semseter two week six part one (BLUE STICK GARDEN )

Image
BLUE STICK GARDEN Blue Stick Garden is a visually striking example in which the design and development of art and landscapes can be enhanced for the coming public. Through this style, viewers see the movement and rhythm when they walk around.   Blue Stick Garden is used as the Métis International Garden Festival in one of Quebec’s gardens, which made its debut in 2000 at the first edition. The Métis gardens have one Himalayan Blue Poppy and the second Border garden called the ‘Long Walk’. The Hestercombe installation of Blue Stick creates work related to inspiration and innovation. In 1904, the blue stick was the world-famous garden at Hestercombe. EFFECT OF  BLUE COLOUR The blue color of Blue Sticks pops itself which makes the eye-catching view for the Visitors. When they move around the Blue Sticks landscape an altered state from an unpredicted combination of movement and combination colors occurs. The award-winning Blue Stick Garden has an unbelievable effect on public perception

Semester Two Week Four Part Two (Yves Brunier )

Yves Brunier  (1962-1991)French Landscape Architect ABOUT PROJECTS:  The most significant thing for me was the fact that his knowledge of nature helped me to confirm the hunch I had about the change of route under way, about the fact that landscape was in the process of becoming the only medium capable of establishing connections in the city. These hypotheses about tension between city and country came to the fore at La Villette competition, not only in relation to our project, but the projects of Cedric Price, Jean Nouvel and Bernard Tschumi as well.  Since then they have been confirmed, specially in Asian cities, not only for these positive reasons, but for other less admissible reasons too, because landscape is less expensive and politically correct. So the 20th century is drawing to a close with the death of town planning and with his highly cynical apotheosis of landscape. Yves was a molecule in this field with his bipolar tension between city and country. He foreshadowed this s

Semester Two Week Three Part Two (Laurie Olin )

Laurie Olin  The intersecting planes of Pershing Square in Los Angeles provide a modernist getaway for many Angelinos in the downtown region. Pershing Square is surrounded on all sides by "commercial blocks of architectural beauty and metropolitan size." While the park has received unfavourable criticism because of its lack of green space and high concentration of drug-related activity, some view it as a cultural landmark because of its huge stucco tower and aqueduct-like water feature. In his documentary Redemption Square, John Moody intentionally focuses on the perception, memory, and identity of the area; this film won the Best Urban Design Feature 2017 award at the New Urbanism Film Festival. Moody leads you from the park's founding in 1866 to its approaching closure using the voices of visitors, locals, and those who had called it home.
