Out of the blue while strolling through Roberto Burle Marx: Brazilian Pioneer at the Jewish Exhibition hall in New York, one might hear a delicate surging of waves, blended in with the mumble of an outside swarm. A portrayal in Portuguese, both spoken and sung, will float breezily in and out. This is the soundscape of Plages, a 2001 video by craftsman Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster.
